About Me

My lovely readers,
About three years ago, immersed in a cooking class I had been taking in school, my interest and passion for food was just starting to grow.  I had discovered my first food blog: Bakerella, queen of Cake Pops.  Bakerella made me realize a few things. First off, forget cookbooks, I’ve found much more diverse and unique recipes online. From hundreds of “favorite” chocolate chip cookie recipes (all which have been sworn by, of course) to things like carrot cake pancakes and red velvet fried chicken, the internet contains EVERYTHING. Intrigued by the peculiarities of unique recipes and, honestly, just the tasty looking photos, my Evernote account quickly filled with a recipe queue as long as my growing grocery list. Before I’d realized it, my small interest in cooking quickly grew up; I’d become fascinated by food.

Challah Bread

I started spending most of my free time just scrolling through recipes online. A new day, a new blog to search through. In school, at home, when I was clearly supposed to be doing other work; I’d catch myself comparing banana bread recipes (walnuts or pecans?). I came up with a never ending list of food blogs that I’d scrolled through and loved, all tabbed on my computer. I trusted these blogs, and the chefs behind them, with my life – okay, maybe that’s a little dramatic. There was Pioneer WomanDavid LebovitzJoy the BakerMy Baking Addiction, and my personal favorite Smitten Kitchen.

So after about a year of practically stalking dozens of my favorite baking and cooking blogs, I decided that maybe I’d give it a shot myself. I’ll go on baking as usual, and post my reviews of each recipe I use, modify or create.

Mini Rainbow Cupcakes

I will tweak each recipe here and there, and will give credit to the cook I list with each post. As a high school student (edit – now I am moving on to college!!), it’s hard to find the time to keep up my passion for baking throughout the year, but I promise that I’ll try my best. I hope you enjoy my blog!
